Vicarious
Visions, Inc., an independent east coast game development studio,
wanted a state-of-the-art, database-driven corporate website to
showcase its range of premier game products and services.
A rival of west coast game corporations, VV sought a dynamic site to
provide visitors with efficient search capabilities for its catalog of
100+ games, while allowing for frequent internal site updates as new
games and services emerge. Appealing to a range of end-users –
publishers, purchasers, existing staff members and potential employees
– VV wanted its site to echo its trademark environment and corporate
style: a youthful atmosphere that couples fun, amusement and playful
shenanigans with professionalism, sincerity and pride.
Spiral developed a fun, database-driven site that balances
technology, innovation and whimsy, and provides the company’s IT team
with the tools necessary for continual site updates with minimal
effort.

Flash-detect: The site automatically serves up a different configuration dependent on the computer’s specific capabilities.
Functional flash banners: Rotating and changing
upon each page load/refresh, these banners promote the latest games
developed by VV. Viewer can reveal subsequent screenshots with minimal
clicks, right from the home page.
Rotating character graphics: Atop each page,
characters from popular games change upon refresh or page load,
showcasing the variety of brands for which VV designs. This gives pages
a variety of new looks, keeping the site fresh for each visit. |
